Where It Is Used

  • Bottles, cans, cartons, totes and pallets with flat, rigid bottoms — bottling, brewing and daily-chemical filling and packing lines.
  • Heavy or irregular workpieces in automotive, construction machinery, appliance and furniture assembly, inspection and test stations.
  • Hot, oily or soiled parts such as castings, forgings and stampings after foundry, forging or heat-treatment steps (steel slats, with drip pans and guards).

Key Features

  • A continuous, flat and rigid surface: products can stand, be located and assembled, and fixtures, stops and tooling plates can be added for paced, indexing production.
  • Positive chain drive without belt slip — suited to fixed-station work, repeatable positioning and cycle-time-based lines.
  • Steel slats carry hot, oily, dirty and heavy duties; plastic table-top chain suits bottles, cans and packaging.
  • Wide, multi-lane and long runs are possible, and modular chain links allow local replacement.

Selection Notes

  • Not a general accumulation conveyor: standard slat conveyors work to fixed stations and cycle times — accumulation needs dedicated sections or non-contact solutions.
  • Heavy steel-slat conveyors usually run straight; turning needs side-flexing chain, turntables or curve modules rather than being assumed.
  • Product bottoms must bridge the gaps between slats — small, soft or tip-prone items need support plates or fixtures.
  • Hinges, pins, tracks and sprockets are the wear points; hot, oily or wash-down duties need matched materials and a cleaning strategy.
