Conveyor

Chains or load carriers carry pallets and heavy unit loads directly, with controlled speed for assembly and packaging lines.

Where It Is Used

  • Pallets, totes, bins, carriers and tooling plates with rigid supporting surfaces — warehousing, distribution and inter-process transfer.
  • Heavy workpieces in automotive and parts manufacturing: engines, axles, tyres and appliances, carried on load carriers.
  • Full-pallet food, beverage and daily-chemical movements, plus loading and unloading areas (drag-chain type).

Key Features

  • Chains carry the load directly — suited to pallet-class heavy loads at slow, controlled speeds.
  • An open structure: debris and liquids do not collect under a belt, and chains, carriers and tracks are easy to inspect.
  • Combines with chain transfers, turntables and transfer cars for 90-degree transfer, rotation and diversion.
  • Multi-strand chains and load carriers adapt to different pallet bottoms, spans and load distribution.

Selection Notes

  • Only for unit loads with a rigid supporting surface — soft bags, small items and bulk materials fall between the strands; bulk needs enclosed drag, trough or en-masse types.
  • Chain wear, elongation, lubrication and tension are the main maintenance points; wet, washed or dusty areas need stainless or engineering-plastic chains or enclosed designs.
  • Open multi-strand chains are not for dust or fine bulk material, which drops between the chains.
  • This is a chain conveyor, not a chain-driven live roller (CDLR): here the chain or carrier supports the load directly.
  • Pallet bottom and centre of gravity must match the conveyor — off-centre, soft or damaged pallets drift or jam.
