Where It Is Used

  • Cartons, parcels, luggage, totes and pallets on roller or heavy-duty curves; bottles, food and small items on modular or narrow-belt curves.
  • Sorting in logistics, express and e-commerce; airport baggage; warehouse routing around columns and equipment; packaging-line turns and merges.
  • Unit loads with flat bottoms that can bridge the gaps along a curve.

Key Features

  • Changes direction within limited floor space — fewer transfers and less manual handling, linking straight sections.
  • Belt curves use positive drive for stable tracking; roller curves use tapered rollers to keep product orientation.
  • Modular radius belts allow small radii on food and packaging lines.
  • A continuous curve reduces end transfers compared with right-angle transfers, when guiding is correct.

Selection Notes

  • Curves should not accumulate: accumulation pressure pushes products off the edge.
  • Radius, width and angle depend on the product — longer, wider or taller products need a larger inside radius.
  • Inner and outer speed differences rotate or shift products, so side guides are needed; tall, small-base or soft items tip.
  • Curves are jam-prone points: match upstream and downstream speeds and control gaps — a curve is not a buffer.
  • No promise of any angle or radius: ranges are chosen by product and line speed.
